Dr. Scot Caven, D.C.

I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. Before earning my chiropractic degree, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto with a major in psychology. I have always had a passion for natural approaches to healthcare and holistic procedures, preferring to be proactive and preventative in enhancing health. I have a strong interest in keeping the body free of nerve interference and allowing the body to be optimally healthy. I also believe in providing it with the best building blocks available for for the body to be energized and strong through nutrition and supplementation. I earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1999, and have been practicing ever since.

I believe that anyone who has a spine and a nervous system can benefit from chiropractic care. We are self-regulating and self-healing human beings who can have the best of health, as long as we are given the tools to do so. Because the nervous system controls all aspects of our physical function, from digestion to movement, it is the most important system in our bodies. In order for the nervous system to function to the best of its abilities, the spine needs to be healthy. If the spine is bio-mechanically incorrect it can interfere with the function of the nervous system, which in turn affects the function of those areas serviced by that particular nerve route. I realign the spine in order that the nerves can be free of interference, which in turn insures that the organs, tissues and cells in your body can function to the best of their ability.

I am currently in the process of taking over the herbal and nutritional practice of my late wife Gail, and although I already have extensive knowledge in these areas I intend to upgrade and continue my education in these areas. I believe that along with chiropractic and other wellness techniques, especially nutrition and supplementation, the body is best able to resist the stresses that we place on it every day.

I utilize a number of different gentle techniques to optimize the comfort and efficacy of the adjustment for each patient’s individual needs. I am also able to talk to you about your nutritional needs, and can recommend strategies and supplements to enhance your well being. I would be more than happy to discuss your needs and concerns.
